Our church has been blessed with an incredibly capable staff, each member having a heart to
serve and encourage.
My family lived out in the country surrounded by tall corn, wheat, and row after row of soy beans. My father was a factory worker though he tried his hand at farming but his greatest love was music. He entertained for years in the bars and clubs playing for little money and lots of drink. As a father he knew it was his responsibility to get his kids into church on Sunday, so he took us to the little church down the road. I did all I could to please the Sunday school teachers and the pastor and thought for sure it was enough for God too. Then one day when I was 12 years old, a lady in our church took me and the rest of the teens to meetings in town. It was there I discovered that my “good” could never outweigh my sin before a holy God. I was lost and condemned. Tough news for a 12 year old. But I understood enough to know I needed Jesus Christ to be my savior. Jesus didn’t die to make bad people good, He died to make dead people live! Then and there as best as a 12 year old could, I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believed He died for me, was buried and rose again the third day.
The older I got the more I understood what all that meant till finally in college I knew God was calling me to serve Him in a full time way. I went on to Bible college and then into the ministry of telling others of God’s wonderful gift of salvation. Now I continue that ministry as I serve Him here at North Point Church.
My hope is that you too have discovered the joy of personally knowing Jesus Christ as your Savior.
